We had hoped to have a full-on Maid Café for Ohayocon, but due to circumstances regarding hotel service rules we were unable to do so. The wonderful staff at Ohayocon allowed us instead to have an hour of time to promote the café to other cons: Thus the concept of the Maid Party was born! This Paid Party is an alternative to the Café in situations were we are not able to provide food service. So instead we served various teas, and played ‘Otaku Pictionary’ (created just for the Maid Party!) for Japanese themed food prizes!

The event came together at the very last minute as the Ohayocon staff were made to wait right up to a week before the con to hear the final desicion on whether or not it would be possible to have the Café at all. Despite the fact that we had so little time for planning the event went extremely well and was a whole lot of fun! We had a full room of people, and a lot of laughs playing Otaku Pictionary!

We hope to flesh out the Maid Party for future events to include more games and focus more on individual attention to the guests by having more cute girls and guys on staff to pass out tea and chit-chat!

After the Maid Party was over the maid staff had a lot of fun running around and hamming it up during our first Maid Café photoshoot!
